Welcome to CRKL ("CRKL," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our mobile applications, websites, services, and software (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account or using CRKL, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Account Eligibility & Age Requirements

To use CRKL, you must register with a valid email address and date of birth.

Under-13 Account Safeguards: In compliance with child privacy regulations, accounts registered by individuals under the age of 13 are automatically assigned a locked Private status. Under-13 accounts cannot switch to public visibility and can only interact with verified contacts within their confirmed family network or approved requests.

2. Account Creation & Security

When you register for a CRKL account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current registration details (including lowercase unique username, email, and date of birth).
  • Maintain a secure password (minimum 8 characters, containing uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters).
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your credentials and notify us immediately of any unauthorized account activity.

3. Spotify Integration & Third-Party Content

CRKL integrates with third-party services including the Spotify Web API to allow users to select and preview music tracks on their profile.

  • Accessing Spotify tracks on CRKL is subject to Spotify's Terms and Conditions and Developer Policy.
  • CRKL does not host or claim ownership over any musical compositions, sound recordings, or cover art provided via Spotify.
  • Music previews provided in the app are short promotional snippets subject to availability on the Spotify platform.

4. Virtual Items, Themes & Creator Subscriptions

CRKL provides both free features and optional creator enhancements:

  • Basic Accounts: Free access to your Orbit, Top 10 circle, basic family tree, and Spotify profile anthem selection.
  • CRKL Shop Packs: Individual virtual theme packs and items may be unlocked or purchased via in-app transactions. These purchases grant a limited, non-transferable license for in-app customization.
  • Creator Subscriptions: Optional subscription memberships grant access to the in-app Theme Pack Creator suite, allowing creators to build custom palettes and aura gradients, submit themes to the CRKL Store, and earn creator royalties. Subscriptions renew automatically through Apple App Store or Google Play Store unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing cycle.

5. User Conduct & Content Guidelines

CRKL is built for authentic, close relationships. You agree not to:

  • Harass, intimidate, or bully other users.
  • Post sexually explicit, violent, fraudulent, or unlawful content.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent security and privacy controls.
  • Misrepresent your identity or create unauthorized automated accounts.

6. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms or pose a security risk to the community. You may delete your account at any time within the app settings.
